We are glad to help you in selecting the right tire/wheel package for your vehicle. | ||
Your wheels do require regular care in order to maintain factory appearance. We strongly recommend you to take a few precautions to protect your investment and keep your vehicle looking its best. |
||
| 1) | RE-TORQUE LUG NUTS - With Aluminum wheels re-tighten your lug nuts after the initial 25-50 Miles of having your wheels removed and installed on your vehicle. This safety precaution is essential for your safety and the safety of your vehicle. All vehicles have a manufacture’s recommendation for lug nut torque. This information is available in your owners manual, or simply ask us. | |
| 2) | AVOID OVER TORQUE ON LUG NUTS - With Aluminum wheels avoid over torque on your lug nuts. All vehicles have a recommended foot pounds for your lug nuts. Ask us for the recommended torque. Over torque can and may result in damage to the wheel, warped or bent rotors and/or stripped lug studs. | |
| 3) | REGULAR CLEANING - Typical road soils trap moisture which can cause corrosion over a period of time. Brake dust caused by friction of your car's braking system is itself corrosive and can cause pitting of the wheel finish. These soils should be removed regularly, possibly every two weeks, depending on your driving habits. | |
| 4) | USE OF PROPER CLEANING AGENTS - While simple mild soap and water are safe for your new wheels, you will probably be disappointed with the cleaning results achieved, particularly on brake dust. Certain other types of household products are too harsh for the fine finish and should be avoided. There are a number of commercially available wheel cleaners on the market today, but we urge you to use extreme caution when selecting one for use. Some are acid or hydroxide-based. Always use a soft paste car wax (Non-Abrasive). As a rule of thumb, if it is safe for your cars’ paint, it will be safe for your cars’ wheels. | |
